#4 FF: Feature and Follow

How do you write your reviews
I just sit down and write them. While writing, I remember all of the points I had felt while reading the book I am writing a review on. Honestly, I am starting to think I should take notes while reading the books. However, I feel if I do that I will distract myself from fully appreciating the book I am reading.

I do almost the same thing. Except I try to take notes (and fail) a lot.

Note-taking is really helpful. But sometimes, I don't get to do it. Haha!

I have no idea how I exactly write my reviews… I sometimes, if I’m reading an ebook, have a draft post on the blog and as I go, write down points that I wanna mention in the review. Usually, I end up with things like “Gosh, this girl’s awesome” or “yes to character devolopment!” or “Okay, people do NOT talk like that!” and then have to change those into paragraphs with examples and organize it. It also differs from book to book, I guess…

I had to start writing down my notes because I would forget them. Lol! Thank you for stopping by. :)

I try to jot down some thoughts while I read or else I forget half of what I want to mention when I go to write the review.

Thank you for your review. Following you on bloglovin!

I agree, taking notice can be super distracting... :/

I thought of writing points down while reading but I feel the same as you and wouldn't appreciate the book so I just wait until the end.

I'm beginning to feel like I should take notes too -- I know some ebook readers and iPhone apps let you do that, but I always forget it's there, lol! (followed on boglovin')

I do the same - I just start writing them when I'm finished reading. I do try to take notes as I'm reading but not always. :)

I completely agree with what you said. Taking notes really helps when it comes to writing reviews, but when I do take the time to make them I can't help but feel like it's deviating my attention from the book, therefore interrupting my full enjoyment of it.

Great point about not losing your full appreciation of a book by taking notes. I think this method might be useful for some people, but not others. I'm like you -- I just sit down and start writing. When I finish, I go do something else on the blog, return to the review, and start revising. Sometimes I go get the book and skim parts of it to refresh my memory, in order to make some important points. So maybe I SHOULD be taking notes.....lol. But I agree with you, so I don't think note-taking is really for me.

Thanks for commenting on my FF post, and following my blog! I'm also following you now, with GFC! : )

I recently started taking notes for my reviews and it has helped me sooo much! I agree with what you're saying though about it detracting from your reading. I don't actually take notes while reading though, I jot down notes when thoughts come to me throughout the day while I'm not reading :) those are the ideas I want to capture most!
